I can't believe I forgot to pack them as I am in the backwoods of Bama. I guess some things never go out of style.

Royal flush.....
I could care less about the fact Prince William is betrothed and Kate Middleton is being chased by paparazzi, but this vintage shot of Diana and her fab Hunter wellies is simply glorious.
I can't believe I forgot to pack them as I am in the backwoods of Bama. I guess some things never go out of style.

Fall back.
Sometimes there is little more than a pair of boots or a chill in the air that can put me in a good mood. I love these farm fresh fall looks via Country Living. They take the beachy feeling right out of me...and leaving me with a smell of pumpkins, the crunch of fall leaves and the hopes of Christmas lights twinkling in my not so near future.
I need this skirt....and for those of you thinking that my wardrobe is comprised of pants and platforms, guess again.
....heeled Hunter rain boots? Yes, please.

Form meets function....
I got them! My main Christmas wish...sure it may sound weird, but I wanted a pair of Hunter rain boots. I know, I know I had two, one from the J.Crack outlet and a free pair, but these were the penultimate of rain boots and I have lusted after them for years. A little kooky I agree and it's doubtful that anyone shy of gardeners got RBs from Christmas, but hey, stranger things have pleased me. I think I finally convinced my Dad how great they were when I gave him a history lesson last night...here goes:
The boot company began in 1856 in Edinburgh with a mere four employees and nearly 20 years later had grown to over 600 employees. These wellington boots were made for more than just gardening, herding sheep or style; during World War I the company was asked to construct a sturdy boot suitable for for flooded trenches. The mills produced over one million pairs to meet the Army's demands.
World War II brought the same demands, Hunter was once again called upon to supply wellingtons and thigh boots. Over 80% of their production was for war materials - from ground sheets to life belts and gas masks. Talk about form meets function....

Over 80% of their production was for war materials - from ground sheets to life belts and gas masks. Talk about form meets function....Today, Hunter is the preferred welly brand for work and play alike, and now I finally have that pair of Green Hunter Wellingtons first produced over 50 years ago....history in the making, huh? Or maybe it proves anything can be justified......

I want you so bad......
I want you
I want you so bad
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad,
it’s driving me mad.
I want you
Nothing like a little Beatles to get me in the mood! I am obsessed with boots. All sizes, shapes, colors, heights...I love these and am hoping that Santa brings me a snazzy pair of Hunters for C-mas, but while I wait I found these over-the-knee {OTK} beauties by Jeffrey Campbell over at Shopbop. Probably a little too much rubber, but darn they would have been a good thing after Hurricane {tropical storm} Ida......

Boot scootin' boogie....
Dear J.Crew,
You leave me wanting fall to arrive faster than it possibly can with your new clothes and newer shoes. The boots below leave me longing for the 50 degree weather that is months away, they leave me wanting crisp leaves, they leave me dreaming of Thanksgiving and pumpkin pie and they leave me checking your website daily for corduroy and cashmere. You are over 60 miles from my house, and I miss you and I miss fall.....can we work on that?
Sincerely,
Falling for Shoes
