Why Emerson Made ever stopped making their unique flowers I shall never know. They were quite amazing though I've never owned one I'm hoping to have a copy quite soon!

I heart that....

How simply these photos are created. Inititally I believed that these heart lights were created with a swift jerk of the camera--how silly of me. All it takes is a simple lens cover in any shape you desire. Am I the only one that did not know this?

Time of my life...

I am tempted on a daily basis by J. Crack's retro-cool Timex Camper watch but I found a cheapo Timex for less. To save or not to save?

Paper Trail.

I am a sucker for paper art. Have been since I was a kid...it's the one type of art that I enjoy...it keeps me entertained and my hands busy enough to stay focused. I was thrilled to happen upon David Stark on D*S. Together they created a pop up store/installation that will be open for those two days only. The (purely paper) Flower Shoppe is at the west elm store on Broadway and 62nd Street. All of the flowers, plants, gardening tools, and even the actual shop itself are made from paper created from discarded books....now that's reading between the lines....

Like a "Moss".......

Yours truly blogged about a love of moss just the other day, and what to my wondering eyes appeared but moss via Anthro's facebook page. I mean, come on, I should work there! I'm already ahead of the curve. Check out their attention to detail...even the tiny (pricey) tags are covered in teeny tiny bits of mossy goodness. It does make me a wee bit sad though.Last night following my beach trip I took down my alst mossy bits and started the dusting process....maybe the moss will resurface soon! On another note, check out this skirt. Talk about a paper trail.

Something from nothing....

I like to think that I can make something from nothing.....and most of the time my creativity wins. Do you remember these ideas from Blueprint? Genius. You can increase the size of small letter, envelope or photo and make an over-sized art print for you office or living room. See what you can dig up. Urban Nest used this idea for wedding invites, but I am leaning toward a vintage letter Christmas card (go figure), envelope or vintage photo {yum!}......

Bloomi's has launched The Big Window Challenge featuring Apartment Therapy and Elle Decor. Designers were invited to design window displays for the store.

1. Bloomingdales: This New York City apartment-inspired space is inhabited by a sophisticated travel magazine editor who collects objects from around the world. The room as an early 1960's sensibility, combining modern furnishings with a grass cloth wall covering and appliqué fabric as the window treatment. It's a mix of primitive, Asian, folk art and photography in an urban environment—all anchored by a custom-patterned area rug. 2. Elle Decor--featuring Eddie Ross (former MSL editor): The signature space shimmers with a mix of classic and modern, new and old, together with a balance of bold patterns and vibrant colors. A spatter-paint print, like stars in an endless sky, reflects the owner’s love of travel to wide-open spaces, and her passion for sparkling evenings at home entertaining friends and family.

3. Apartment Therapy: The Writer's Library, inspired by my friend, Amor, is a dark, bookish den in which a romantic dinner has been surprisingly set for a female guest. The room is piled high with books and features items that may have come from far off travels. The side walls are painted faux bookcases for this display and inspired by the Studiolo at the MET. The room decor centers on the large, leather Ralph Lauren chair, the memorable Neisha Crosland wallpaper and Michele Varian's funky, steampunk style.

Facebook stalking....

Nothing like a little facebook stalking, while most people might check up on their friends I choose to add pages, so I can view store update like these from Anthro. I adore Anthropologie, although most of my clothes are Banana, J.Crew and BCBG...plus jeans. Anthro is something completely different--a complete freedom of expression. I remember I was planning on posting about these floral creations but forgot to remind myself.While in Atlanta with Miss Claire I jetted into Anthro for a brief moment following dinner and spotted these genius flowers created from recycled plastic cups. These are from the Miami store, but the ATL Lennox store had a similar vibe.
