Can't buy me love.

Talk about a trainwreck. As if The Bachelor or The Bachelorette aren't enough.....what's left to do but cram the castoffs from the aforementioned in a house together for hookups, breakups, breakdowns...oh and a little thing called $250,000.Yes, I'll be watching in case you're wondering....

Office space.

Dear NBC: The Office used to make me cringe, not wanting to face the facts that I was, in fact, a cube monkey and not fully understanding the value of the show. I dreaded each and every episode. I now find myself watching the tongue-in-cheek humor and relating to each of the quirk characters. Yes, every office has a Dwight, Creed, Michael, Pam, Andy, Stanley and Phyllis.Whether Dwight is commandeering a conference room declaring it workspace, Michael is saying something inappropriate, or cats are flying through the ceiling......the show has it all, and trust me things like this really happen--I would like to personally volunteer myself to be a writer for the show....Call me. I have a few funny ones up my suit sleeve. -M

The Big Apple.

Have you seen the new clip for Rescue Me? I love it. Set to the tune of Alicia Keys it reminds me of the Sex and the City trailer, but is inspiring. Do I watch the show? No....will I now? Probably not, but the commercial has my approval.

Cheetah!

"Cheetos release endorphins and make kids happy, we don't need happy kids." The quote of the night from Glee, my favorite, musical-genius of a TV show. This quote reminded me very much of the Legally Blonde quote: "Exercise releases endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't kill people.
Thank you, Elle Woods and thank you, Glee for a little light-hearted fun!

Such a stud.

The countdown to the lovely Carrie is on, sadly I'm not one of the fabulous few that saw it last night. I had already tried to do a midnight viewing of a Twilight flick and left before it started because I was so exhausted and the thought of standing in line for that long that late at night did not appeal to me. But Carrie might have been worth it from what I've heard...no worries though, I will soon see the flick-->this Friday to be precise and in the meantime I'm drooling over these studly Brian Atwood beauties featured in the movie....and guess what? You too can get a pair at Saks.

1 more day!!

Gaga over Glee....

It started out as bad romance and I tried to keep a poker face when it first came to Glee. I did not see how people could get into a television show this much, but it has sucked me it. The stars come in left and right--think Neil Patrick Harris, Madonna, and Gaga---not to mention the football team does the Single Ladies dance. What's not to love?I was not in glee club and cannot sing, but this show makes me want to go back to high school and join....or at least crank my ipod up and jam out! If you have not seen it I recommend Hulu Now!
"It's not enough to douse yourselves in gasoline, you have to light yourselves on fire...."or so Glee said...{tongue in cheek, mind you}

Roses are red.

Hands up of everyone who is watching The Bachelorette. I am! It is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine and I have been glued to the tube for the past hour and a half. Why ABC picks some of these dorks is beyond me, but it's bound to make for better TV later in the season. However, I like to pretend the whole thing will work out happily ever after....even though we all know it will come crashing down into a horrible reality TV mess. I have one vote for the entire show and that is Phil from Chicago. His vitals, you ask? Well thanks to ABC we have the skinny.*Age: 30
*Occupation: Investment Manager
*Hometown: Elmore, OH
*Resides in: Chicago, IL
*What does he admire most: His grandparents who are happy in love and life
*What he likes to do for fun: Triathalon/ironman training, going out for dinner, drinks and dancing, golf and road trips
*What he considers his three best attributes: His personality, intelligence and stability
*Tattoo Count: 0....Love how they randomly threw in tattoo count......

MASH....

“The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.” -Alan Alda
This photo and quote remind me of watching reruns of the classic show, MASH, with my parents as a child....ah the good old days.....

City sleeker...

Fine. I admit it. I am in my mid late twenties and I have a handful of guilty pleasures, one of which involves copious amounts small doses of reality television, and yes it involves one single show on MTV (I know, quite embarrassing)...I attempted to watch The Hills but was left disgusted and bored with the tired script and plastic Speidi........moving on to 9:30 and The City....the glorious city. I certainly could care less about the arguments that arise between Olivia and others....but the clothes, the city, the whole thing. I am in love and cannot wait to see what is worn next week... basically the same reason I watched Sex and the City. Olivia and Whitney are the new SJPs.....does Olivia ever wear anything bad? While I disagree with her attitude I would give anything to raid her closet.
Wouldn't you?

Kell on Earth...

Yes, guilty I am of reality TV viewing....The Hills, The City, The Bachelor, Real Housewives of NYC, most recently Kell on Earth and many more.....now if you've been paying attention Whitney Port started as Lauren Conrad's comrade on The Hills, then moved to The City to work with Kelly Cutrone of People's Revolution who now stars in Kell on Earth......ahhhh the incest that is lineage of the reality TV. Well Kelly has since written a book (so did Lauren Conrad) and I am not one to buy celeb books or subscribe to the notion of self help but there are some good tips.....here are a handful via an email to Whitney.....- Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
- Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
- When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye..
- Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
- In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
- Don't judge people by their relatives.
- Talk slowly but think quickly.
- When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'
- Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
- Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.
- When you lose, don't lose the lesson !
- Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
- Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship..
- When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
- Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice..
- Spend some time alone.

Despite Kelly's cynical, cold nature she does have some good advice...who knows? Maybe it's just advice that sells....

(500) Days of Boredom

....Really I shoulda read the review. Sitting at Claire's future inlaws we were debating whether or not to leave the house, and unfortunately we decided to stay in and watch a movie.....and even more unfortunately we decided to watch a movie. The choices were The Hangover and (500) Days of Summer. The first choice was probably not parent friendly, but it is quite a comedy and follows the wild rumpus that is a bachelor party---NOT bachelorette mind you. These guys get into every possible bad situation they can, and trust me......all of these situations could (and probably have) happen(ed). But enough of that we watched 500.Unknowingly, we believed we had selected a cute, quirky, romantic comedy.....needless to say it was far from cute. It was quite possibly the most depressing recollection about a romantic fling I have ever seen. Viewers are tormented through watching a guy's painful dating saga as he goes after a girl clearly not into him. Day after day. Ten minutes through the movie we were all groaning offering to pay $5 to buy a new movie. Anything would have been an improvement.

This morning I opted to read the critic's review to see what the rest of the free world was saying...turns out Rolling Stone liked the flick, but the review would have given me the info I needed.

Boy meets girl, boy loses girl. It’s been done to emo death. That’s why the sublimely smart-sexy-joyful-sad (500) Days of Summer hits you like a blast of pure romantic oxygen. It turns the genre on its empty head and sees relationships for what they are — a bruising business. Someone’s heart always gets ripped out.

Definitely one I would have preferred to miss...and I did happen to miss the last bit. I have a bad track record of going to sleep and missing television if watched on a couch late at night....I awoke to hear groans...."UGHGHGHGHGH" as I wiped the sleep from my eyes I realized I had missed the last bit of the movie. I think I feel asleep of Day 497. I missed the punch line at the end. The next chick he meets is.........Autumn.....really?! I recommend skipping this movie if your taste is anything like mine. I wanted to see a happily ever after, humorous movie and 500 did not deliver....I like the empty head that RS dislikes. Brain candy.

Flying high....

Okay, I admit it my guilty pleasure has to be reality television....every year I get sucked in by these shows and this year is no different--The Bachelor got me again! I don't even know why I watch it I could care less whether or not these girls get engaged, get a rose or go home it is all going to end in shambles anyway. I guess what's funny is what these girls say or do on national television to 1. Get the guy or 2. Get publicity.....and lastly I'd like to know where these girls' clothing allowances come from? Last year Jillian was spotted wearing DVF duds and this year Rozlyn Papa on the night she was outed and ousted was wearing a Burberry dress. The same gold, glittery number Sienna Miller had donned which likely sold for upwards of $2k.....really Roz I know you are a model, but you are not Giselle.

The "Pitts"....

Brad {Pitt} unabashedly rocked these monogram loafers for the premier of Inglorious Bastards. I am literally drooling over the the blatant block letter monogram. Can I get a MBT, or MKT, as some put it? Heck, I'll settle for MT. Could these be Stubbs and Wootten--not sure but I have adored the SW's for years.Talk about a shoe snob......And who could resist these? A crown, skull, and nail you! Ah well I'll probably never get a pair for myself, but for all you gentlemen out there...just sayin'......
