Knee high.

Get a leg up on the season with knee socks. I have tried and failed miserably so many times to wear these...but this year....maybe, just maybe......or maybe I should concede and make a concession to wear these only during kickball and halloween.....

Simply irresistible.

Channeling Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love we rocked on in the last moments of work for a photo shoot for United Way. Sometimes all it takes is a funny reenactment to put you in a good mood...and yes, there was a whole band, but for fear of embarrassment I left the photo-op to Robert Palmer and I.

Like clogwork!

Oh, how I am craving some clogs or punky footwear for the fall. Love these Edelman clogs and the skinny chic cargos. Thank you, Free People, for awesome style!

Hello goodbye.

There are few instances that I will gravel over...one of which happens to be clothes, and this weekend I said goodbye to a dude and hello to my missing wardrobe. I vivdly recall losing my prized Anthropologie earrings in my boyfriend's Mustang.... and also remember vividly not hearing from him for a few days and, seeing him at a stoplight, and passing the jewels car to car.

Times have changed, but my love life certainly has not. I am still losing things and still losing men boys. It happened Thursday when my life came to a screeching halt. The guy of the hour had tried to waltz back into my life after not talking to me in nearly a week. I had been down this road months before, and was not about to do it again. I promptly thanked him for the invitation and declined the offer citing the fact that I liked him as a person, but the whole "attempt to date every now and then" was not working for me. He literally hung up the phone....I take it he had never been told "No"....and definitely never been told "No" by someone very much his junior.

Saturday rolled around and I still had yet to hear from the stinker. I was getting ready to take a much needed shopping excursion and knew exactly what I wanted to wear, but after rifling through my wreck of a closet I could not find the dress. Crap, I thought--the last time I had the thing I brought it over to the dude's house to get ready after a beach day. I went back in the closet several more times digging deeper and deeper until I tucked my tail between my legs and sent a semi-nice text wishing him well on his trip and quickly asking if he had seen my dresses....then, guess what?!? I found them. Embarrassed, but determined not to worry about I moved on and got ready. Needless to say the good bad man is still MIA and I don't anticipate hearing from him him gravelling any time soon.

En-trenched...

The trench is an iconoclastic piece of fashion. Burberry has created Art of the Trench to showcase the multitude of ways this topper can be donned. I suggest you check it out. The sound mix isn't half bad either.

So last year.....

Mark it down....I saw Sex and the City: The Movie Part Deux (SATCTM2) and I loved it, but not before I googled my heart out trying to find spoilers, fashion and shoes....then I found some classic looks...the looks that made SJP, SJP.
Take 1: In the first movie Parker, not one to recycle wore the studded belt and black gladiators throughout the flick. This left me wondering if I would spot a unified theme in the next flick?Take 2: The ballerina. Take 3: The dress Carrie wore as she waited in Paris on Alexander who never came until she had drifted off to sleep.
.....well that's enough of a tease....on with the feature film...

J.Crack attack.

Jenna Lyons is a genius....the Sarah Jessica Parker of J.Crew if you will. I am loving this chic ensemble below: Over-sized scarf, blazer, boyfriend jeans, glasses, socks and sandals. Yes, I admit, I want to be Jenna Lyons. And this is her closet...or room of clothes if you will. I love it. One day I hope to have a room of tricks. What's not to love, the horns, the fireplace, the nonchalance. Look at the center--2 chest of drawers....perfect.And my last J.Crew rant...this lovely straw fedora. I got one back in March and have loved it since. Perfect for the beach, a concert, or just because.....

J.Crew....I am in love....just sayin'.............

Mixed tape.

Remember those mixed tapes and cassettes of yesteryear. Well, neither do I,the closest I came was a couple of Barbie and Disney cassettes.....I grew up a CD girl creating mixed Cd's if you will. But these accessories scream 80's retro and are giving me a flashback....

Marc Jacobs created a USB port in 3 designs....so pick your mix!Chanel is leaving nothing to chance developing it's on retro cassette bag. Clear and complete with a kitschy rabbit's foot.

Isn't everyone out there trying to be the next big thing and blog there way into stardom.....but this blogger is one to watch. Chic outfits, great locations and plenty of photos. Like I opened a never ending Urban Outfitters catalogue but the clothing is Chanel, Missoni and McQueen. Chic, yet not over-done. Blonde salad....I'm sold.

Guilt trip.

My new guilty pleasure. Thanks to a good friend I have a new fave shopping site: Gilt!!! They post new sales every day at 11:00am....I mean serious designer sales. We are talking Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Marni, Judith Leiber, Hype and more. Hurry over there now. You do not know what you have been missing. You're wallet probably won't thank you but your wardrobe will.

Today is a gift.

That's why they call it the present....well we all know that it is better to give than receive and if you give a little compliment you may get something in return. Sure I gush over good design, fashion, style and whatever floats my boat...one of these rants cited Heidi Merrick as the designer du jour. Tracking my blog traffic today I noticed someone entering via Heidi's site....a little more backtracking and I found that blogs are featured on the press page here!! Yours truly! I'm so excited {and I just can't hide it!}! Granted it's a small victory and my blog is a little over a year old, but gosh darn it, it certainly is flattering ;)

Closet case...

My version of the Sartorialist. Here are my pics for the week.

Loving the Jeep, shift dress and gladiators.
Chic and simple.Flowers make the world go round.J. Cool. Fedora, cardi and mounds of jewels. I think so.Clogs are back with a vengeance. How will you rock them?Love the model's hair. I want mine this length.Gorgeous Chloe dress.Yes, it's a wedding dress but please get over that fact. My dream photo is one in a formal gown surrounded by wilderness. This was my plan many moons ago when I was a graduating senior.Got to love the Olsens.High waist paints and jacket. Jenna Lyons of J.Crew rarely wears the company's own pants. She is always searching for a statemeny piece of something with a bit of detail.Shorts and tights were def my uniform for the fall and winter of 2009 and 2010. More tights. Boyfriend pants.Military chic.

City sleeker...

Fine. I admit it. I am in my mid late twenties and I have a handful of guilty pleasures, one of which involves copious amounts small doses of reality television, and yes it involves one single show on MTV (I know, quite embarrassing)...I attempted to watch The Hills but was left disgusted and bored with the tired script and plastic Speidi........moving on to 9:30 and The City....the glorious city. I certainly could care less about the arguments that arise between Olivia and others....but the clothes, the city, the whole thing. I am in love and cannot wait to see what is worn next week... basically the same reason I watched Sex and the City. Olivia and Whitney are the new SJPs.....does Olivia ever wear anything bad? While I disagree with her attitude I would give anything to raid her closet.
Wouldn't you?

Crew, why yes please....

Sure it is 80 plus degrees in the sweltering beautiful Sunshine State, but thoughts of fall leaves and tiny snowflakes flood my brain, oh to walk outside in the brisk cold donning wool and tweed. I was fortunate enough to find the J.Crew Fall 2010 collection online.....I am in love and counting the weeks....... Ahhh, the juxtaposition of the dress and military jacket. I'll do this with a silk cocktail dress.Shorts are where it's at...and that works for me. I can't get enough of shorts with tights....but it's way too hot for my matte black leg wear at the moment.
Spring and summer....why must you get in the way....see you on the flip side, I'm off to dream of cooler days. Goodnight, dead heat.

Third times the charm!

Three little pieces of hair woven tightly together are making a comeback. Braids began popping up ever since Jenn Aniston donned her small weave and have since then made a splash on runways and celebrities alike. A perfect style for those soon-to-come hot summer nights.
Bring on the braids!!
