You're toast.
After the past week, I feel like toast....or at least that my brain is toasted fried. I am in a serious need of a change in life and on my toes. Like I say when the going gets tough, the tough repaint their toe nails. I found the perfect shade to lure me away from OPI's Lincoln Park after Dark.

Pearls of wisdom.
The cure for anything is salt water... sweat....tears...or the sea!
There are few things more classic than pearls, but Nicholas Landon has created a unique mix of classic and organic stringing pearls along leather cords.
There are some with unique nautical coordinates to specify a place, or a sweet home, but I really love the bracelets with tons of pearls layered together.

Ad-visor....
Just when I thought visors were a thing of the past I see people wearing them....granted these people are 30 something, have no taste and not necessarily wearing them for fashion.
So what do you think....are visors cool or cringe-worthy?

If I had a $1000 dollars...
Forget a million dollars, if there was a grand laying around I might be tempted by this vintage Chanel beauty. I guess rainy days are good for one thing-shopping. Shopbop has launched an entire line of vintage Chanel pieces and to quote Rachel Zoe. I die.
The one thing better than vintage is vintage Chanel. The only way to be irreplaceable is to be different and these pieces are certainly one-of-a-kind.

Zip it.
Not sure it it's the deluge of emails littered with images of fall clothing that has me yenning for sweaters and boots or my fear and loathing of summer heat. Whatever the cause I am craving fall/winter attire and have donned jackets and black this week.
Next stop--boots in July? I'm holding back, but if I had these Michael Kors beauties the story might be a tad different. Four pairs in one. Yes, please. Until fall, y'all....

Feed me all night long....
Still on a high from seeing Little Shop of Horrors, I am humming the tunes in my head--particularly the Feed me bit. These bags also did nothing to help my case of forgetting the jingle, but for a good cause. Available online and at various retail locations, the purchase helps in feeding the world's 400 million hungry children. The colorful options are new and the little pouch looks quite tasty...but still I'm thinking of the play and our hungry cohort---I don't mean Audrey II. Yes, I ended up scrounging up a date for the evening, but there were three couples: One group of love birds, my date and I, and a second date.
Thankfully I knew my date a little better than the other gentleman, we saw her exit stage left before intermission and we all thought she had to use the bathroom that badly. She did not come back. Intermission finally rolled around and we all made a mad dash to urinate....and then there were four. We had lost Mr. and Mrs. semi-Smith. Two minutes before the show was starting we see the Mr. wander back in..."Where were y'all?!?" we all blurted out. He responds, "She was hungry." To that we all burst into hysterical laughter--me being the worst.
She had arrived late and not eaten with us, and was obviously starving halfway through the plat. Not sure if it was the blood thirsty flytrap that made her stomach rumble or the minimal theater snacks available, but one thing is sure: she had made a mad marathon dash across the street for dinner.....and we aren't talking about TGIFridays....we are talking she wandered into the nicest restaurant and begged for the quickest meal they could whip up.....and would have only had to wait one more hour for a decent meal.
Bathroom break, I think not....meal break I think so....feed me all night long.

Empire state of mind.
Boondoggle.
How many of you knotted your way to friendship? I know I was craftastic as a kiddo, when I spotted these I couldn't help but be reminded of the many bracelets I created growing up.
These my friends are the perfect grown-up alternative.

Hat attack...
Definitely in need of a good chick flick I watched part on You've Got Mail last night. I had forgotten all the wonderful quotes from the darn movie.
Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one. It got on at 42nd, and off at 59th, where, I assume it was going to Bloomingdales to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake - as almost all hats are. ~Nikolaus Laszlo, Nora Ephron, and Delia Ephron, You've Got Mail.
Trust me these hats from Kas via Gilt are no mistake and the first is quite reminiscent of the crushed topper Sarah Jessica Parker wore in the latest Sex and the City flick. My view is that hats are almost never a mistake, but over 85%of your dates will be, so take your pick a fedora that flops or a dud of a date...
.......so my advice, leave the gun; take the cannoli.....skip the date and buy a hat in five years you'll still have the hat, in five days you may not have the guy's number....

Shine on you crazy diamond.
Take a gander at this blogger's crazy footwear. Do you see the metallic heel? I had almost forgotten the shiny wedges I have stuffed in the back of my closet until I saw this photo. If you have not seen this blog, check it out now. I adore this Brit's style, very boho--Sienna Miller--Kate Moss--esque.
....now where did you get that?

Bringing sexy back.
I must say this-->spoiler alert. Yes, it's official I saw SATCTM2 on Friday evening and was initially concerned that upon entering the theater we were the only group in there......thankfully the space filled. The movie opened rather slowly and I had read that SJP was conceited and lack luster...that the chemistry between she and Big was off. Well it was, but only to portray marriage woes. I gasped as Big opened the vintage box...and I uttered the words "Vintage Rolex," then when Big gives Carrie her anniversary gift--a television, Carrie flips. Trust me, I understand the dangers of technology for gifts of the heart. Carrie is bored she will become an old married lady and her life will be boring, she wants to go out and get pushed in a crowd, She wants to be in the middle of the action and she cringes at the brown bag of take out. A few days later she leaves the house for two days returning to her old apartment to write and think. The story line develops and she and the girls head to Abu Dhabi to gallivant across the desert. Carrie finds Aiden, Charlotte finally cracks admitting that she is not super mom, Carrie kisses Aiden, Samantha is arrested, they sing karaoke, they lose the silver spoons they were handed(personal Maybachs) and return home humbly bringing lessons learned across the worls. Carrie realizes that she had spent half her life running around New York chasing Big and finally she had him sitting in front of her on her couch. She learned to appreciate and love what she had. In true Sex and the City form the story came full circle just like SJP's Zac Posen skirt.
But enough of that--the looks, the fashion is what I want more of. The ballerina look is back in the form of this Zac Posen taffeta number and Dior tee. My personal fave.
The movie opens with SJP in this white Halston number and shiny Louboutins.
More Halston.
80s flashback when Carrie first moved to NYC. I heart the Converse.
Love this looks as well. So fun. Capri jeans with Brian Atwood pumps, thrifted plaid and a sweat band. Classic Pat Field.

Dress by Pat Field.
Love the headdresses and hats in the flick. This top and tiara is what she sings karoake in....hey, don't we all need crowns?
More Halston.
The dress she met Aiden in and the Chanel glasses.

The Louboutins worn with the John Galliano for Christian Dior dress. I died when she walked out in this dress. One of the best moments in the entire movie.....she got her sparkle back....

J.Crack attack.
Jenna Lyons is a genius....the Sarah Jessica Parker of J.Crew if you will. I am loving this chic ensemble below: Over-sized scarf, blazer, boyfriend jeans, glasses, socks and sandals. Yes, I admit, I want to be Jenna Lyons.
And this is her closet...or room of clothes if you will. I love it. One day I hope to have a room of tricks. What's not to love, the horns, the fireplace, the nonchalance. Look at the center--2 chest of drawers....perfect.
And my last J.Crew rant...this lovely straw fedora. I got one back in March and have loved it since. Perfect for the beach, a concert, or just because.....

Mixed tape.
Remember those mixed tapes and cassettes of yesteryear. Well, neither do I,the closest I came was a couple of Barbie and Disney cassettes.....I grew up a CD girl creating mixed Cd's if you will. But these accessories scream 80's retro and are giving me a flashback....
Marc Jacobs created a USB port in 3 designs....so pick your mix!
Chanel is leaving nothing to chance developing it's on retro cassette bag. Clear and complete with a kitschy rabbit's foot.

Salad buffet....
Isn't everyone out there trying to be the next big thing and blog there way into stardom.....but this blogger is one to watch. Chic outfits, great locations and plenty of photos. Like I opened a never ending Urban Outfitters catalogue but the clothing is Chanel, Missoni and McQueen. Chic, yet not over-done. Blonde salad....I'm sold.
