Here comes the sun, comes the sun,
and I say it's all right Little darling,
it's been a long cold lonely winter Little darling,
it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right Little darling,
the smiles returning to the faces Little darling,
it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right.
I can hear the lyrics bouncing in my head as I daydream about Spring Break and those years past. I never had any big plans for the break, but always looked forward to the peace that Spring Break brought. Well, to some I know peace and Spring Break might seem like an oxymoron, but think about it, some peace comes from knowing you get a week to "goof off", relax and recoup....if kids need it why not adults? Today my life is more stressful and there is no Spring Break pick-me-up to look forward to. Why do kids need a break from their otherwise, non stressful life? Being an adult is not fair! I admit some years I did not necessarily look forward to the break because I was ridiculously not cool and never had big plans, but trust me, I can honestly say I miss it dearly. When I hear college kids mention Spring Break I want to make an immediate bolt for the white sand and salty ocean (or at least a mad dash to the shops!). The water was always too cool to really get in and there was always a little nip in the air, but what I wouldn't trade for a week of salty freedom now! I want the swimsuits, the sand, the cool waves, the salty air, the mini golf, a delicious bite of crab leg, a cool night on the beach, a shady umbrella, a book to get lost in, I want it all.....and most importantly I want peace....a week of peace. What do you want this Spring break?
