Pretty young thing, pretty new thing, New York Thing, no....New York Times thing! Leave it to the NYT to come up with the perfect new year's resolution for these, dare I say, recession-like times. The Times came up with the $300 challenge whereby up and coming designers were invited to redo a recently unemployed individuals dwellings. The rule: 1 room/$300 limit, well after the paint was slung and the pillows were covered only one room met the challenge, but the others weren't too shabby...ALL of the rooms were redone for under $500.
