...for THE SUMMER! Well, the approaching month of May has triggered the Alice Cooper cult classic to become stuck in my mind! Can you hear is now? School's out for the summer, school's out forever, no more teachers dirty looks. I am singing the lyrics as I type. I remember those wonderful days of high school when I would start humming the song beginning right after Spring Break and then those college days when I would sing the song out loud for the month between Spring semester and Summer. Ah, to be young and free, now that I am in the workforce I am greatly missing the ability to sing this song. Granted, school is out for good (unless...) but the fact that school is out forever somehow leaves me with a sinking feeling. I love learning and I loved school, hardly a day goes by that I don't want to sit in a classroom again. Well, except for those pesky final exam days. Oh well, I guess all that's left to do is reminisce....I wonder if this can be the song next Friday at 3 p.m?Well we got no choice
All the girls and boys
Makin all that noise
'Cause they found new toys
Well we can't salute ya
Can't find a flagIf that don't suit ya
That's a drag
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Well we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Out for summer
Out till fall
We might not go back at all
School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely
