Skirting the issue....

As most of you have read, I am a cube monkey, but have slightly modified the sterile cube environment with some vibrant, coppery-orange embroidered curtains, thanks to my mom's sewing skills. Yes, she thought I was a tad bit looney tunes to ask for curtains when she made the first pair (pale green, heavy cotton fabric with a graphic floral/branch print), but after I installed them courtesy of two tension rods and some careful measuring on my part and sent pictures she knew I had made a good decision. The whole caper involved me breaking a measuring tape off in my desk as I carefully measured the appropriate dimensions. Now I carried a measuring tape in my purse--boy scout motto--always be prepared! Somehow I feel like Scarlett O'Hara with all this talk of curtains.
