Dad's dedication....

My Dad has always been a lover of the outdoors and his latest post-retirement project is his Victory Garden. This is not his first, and I know it certainly won't be the last. he is growing watermelons and Indian corn. The Indian corn seed had been stored in a man's refrigerator for over 50 years--this truly will be heirloom corn. There is also a scuppernong (muscadine) vine in the background. My great uncle Bud sent these seeds to my Dad in 1980, it is amazing that these have been in our backyard the for nearly 30 years. {Sometimes our dogs sneak a treat}
