Neon, neon, neon, neon.....

Who knows how long, how long, how long, she can go before she burns away.......thanks Mr. Mayer. Take a gander at the Neon Museum. This non-profit museum was established in 1996 to exhibit this classic Las Vegas art form. Some of which have included the slipper from Moulin Rouge and this museum has been featured in Anthropologie, Vogue, Marie Claire and many others. The museum houses over 150 signs, each representing a different story, a different time period, a different artist and all of this collides to tell the story of the sign--what inspired it, where it was constructed and how it is embedded into the rich Las Vegas history. The advances in technology and trends are evident as the pieces date from the 1930s to present day. The museum is a living museum and is constantly evolving. In fact, several current Las Vegas signs have been promised to the collection once they are retired. These pieces will be around for future generations to appreciate.
