Laissez le bon temps roulette.....

Dejarnette New Orleans is letting the good times roll in the spirit of Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday! This charming boutique in New Orleans creates one-of-a-kind jewelry, some pieces are modern, some elegante, some natural, some objet trouve (found objects); all different and all inspiring.

The latest addition to the collection are necklaces created from Mardi Gras doubloons. These necklaces features an amazing collection vintage Mardi Gras doubloons (some dating back to the 1920s and some as modern as the 1079s). Today doubloons are thrown from floats during Mardi Gras parades. At one time these heavy gauge doubloons were not thrown, but handed out due to their weight. The medallions each have intricate detailing and are double-sided. Finally, a better alternative than the irreverent beads.
Some other pieces include Ten Commandments necklaces featured a dainty number and a pendant stamped with the corresponding commandment. This one features Honor thy father and mother.
Another piece that caught my eye was the bubble necklace. Clear glass orbs are strung together to create a delicate piece.
A Streetcar Named Desire came to mind with this piece.
The highest number. This necklace was inspired by the artist's saying, “I love you the highest number in the universes," this necklace features multi-sized brass digits and a tiny brass heart that delicately hangs separately on the left hand side. This saying was created when she was a child to express the love she had for my family and she still uses the phrase to this very day. Numbers play an important role in everyone's life; an age, a birthday, an identity. What do numbers mean to you?
