Thankfully my humble abode came equipped with a gorgeous fireplace, but there is a Catch 22. It is not a gas fireplace so if you do want to use it you must but the lighter logs, secondly it rarely gets cool enough to have a fire, and lastly fires make your whole house smell like a smoke stack and I personally do not want my house to reek of fire much less my clothes. So I developed the perfect solution--candle logs. My dad drilled holes small enough to sit a tea light in and here you have it. A perfect no mess fire.
I must admit that as much as I love my candle logs, change is inevitable and I am beginning to want something else in the fireplace (at least in the summer).Possibly vintage bowling pins, hand forms, or something entirely different. The color should be white to beige to make the items contrast against the interior of the fireplace. Any ideas?
