Check around....

We all are well aware of the Target Zero adage to “Check around,” but we should be aware around us whilst driving in traffic as well. At the intersection 9th Ave and Salamanca, leaving the Gulf Power building, is a rather large pothole that has been repaired. This repair has been marked by a solitary orange cone marker and typically I am well aware of it’s location as I see it everyday on my drive home. But one fateful day I nearly trampled it with my large vehicle. I was not paying attention and not entirely focused as I should have been. I was ready to turn onto 9th Ave when my coworker pointed out the cone I was about to drive over.
Don’t become complacent of your surroundings and, when driving, you can never be focused enough.
