Love actually is....

Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

It seems that with one quick browse I can find 10 things that I want on etsy. I jumped on this morning and found these cute spoons...These awesome pillows..(I think I may get crafty and make some this weekend) :)...and lastly these very awesome cards. So what's with my sudden lust for the holidays? I put up my tree (sans lights and ornaments) last night! So this is Christmas....

Oh happy Christmas...

Yes, it is Halloween and yes I am shopping for Christmas trees? I am a planner after all ;).....this year's decision white or green? You tell me!

Let it snow.

The snow was bittersweet. A part of me was concerned about a lack of power. A part of me was concerned about the unknown. A part of me felt very alone. A part of me had no idea what to expect. I grocery shopped, located flash lights, charged multiple cell phones, and braced myself.
The snow came down falling against the night sky and it was wonderful. I immediately threw on boots and ran out to witness the beauty. I stayed home for two days and avoided the frosty/slushy mess....it was gorgeous and I now wish for snow every day!

A long December.

....and there's reason to believe, maybe this year will be better than the last. It has certainly been a December to remember. A new job, a new city, a new life. I am starting over as I did three years ago...let's see how it goes.

And so this is Christmas....

It is hard to fathom that I started this blog a few years ago with a handful of Christmas posts and now Christmas has come and gone....but the blog remains. Merry Christmas all, and to all a good night.

Great and small...

When it comes to Christmas it's important to remember all God's creatures great and small, and these pet perks made me smile. Who doesn't want a cat tepee?Now I just need a cat....{sigh}.....

As of late I feel a tad discombobulated....I moved in a matter of a few weeks, started a new job and am attempting to learn a whole new city in the midst of the holidays and spending time with friends and family. I have been a slacker at blogging and am hoping to catch up soon. Stay tuned! It could be a Festivus {and Christmas} miracle.....

Thank goodness for free Internet. I am beyond ready to board my flight, but have yet another two hours to kill and shop online. Thanks to anthro for giving me some shopping and decorating ideas for my white tree. Here is my selection of new ornaments for my tree that is waiting to be decked:

Jingle all the way.

I can almost hear the jingling of reindeer bells, or at least see the reindeer antlers on my mantle. I have officially been bitten by the holiday bug. I purchased Halloween cupcake wrappers and am ready to hang lights....only a few more months, but in the meantime I am holiday browsing. How amazing are these wreaths from Horchow?

I'm making my list. Well, not quite but I am in the Christmas spirit ready to bake up a storm, make gingerbread houses and sing off key....and these ornaments would be perfect on my white and silver tree. Just sayin'.

Two turtle doves.

...and a partridge and a pair tree. Maybe it's the Christmas decorations that are already for sale, maybe it's Christmas in July, maybe it's my yen for temps that are not 100 degrees....or maybe, just maybe it's the fact that I just watched the tail end of Home Alone: Lost in New York....but I am ready for December and the "C" word. Those movies have always been my go-tos and considering my recent stressed out state it was a perfect choice.I tuned in at the moment Kevin was giving the turtle doves to the lady in the park just as Mr. Duncan has instructed. Keep one and give one to someone special. Hurry up Christmas!

Yes, I need a little Christmas. I found this via flickr. Cute glass Anthro bowls filled with kisses and glitter trees. Such a cute idea for Christmas. I know it's March, but in nine more months it won't be.
