Have yourself a merry little Christmas now.....

Let your heart be light......The inspiration for this quick craft came from the popular Christmas song .I simple took an empty vintage frame, and inserted my artwork to create a charming piece for my mantle. And visions of sugarplums danced in my head. Not a year goes by that I don't make a gingerbread house and vice versa candy trees. I purchased my gumdrops from Publix last night and created these trees.
Here is a card rack displaying Christmas cards from Christmases past, well a year. I've lived here a year and change and smartly saved the cards I received last year to add to my holiday display this year. Thanks to all that sent me greetings!Mantle Merriment! After all without a mantle where would a fireplace be, and without a fireplace where would Santa be? Here is a sampling of some of my mantle decor. As you can notice I absolutely adore vintage deer. I am not quite sure whether it is to the cold weather associated with reindeer or the warm, woodsy feel...nevertheless they are perfect Christmas accouterments....

The entire mantle....now all I need is a warm fire.....sadly the weather outside is not frightful. Maybe I could cut my air down and have a fire. Thanks to my dad I do have candle logs.

This piece below that is displayed to the left of my fireplace was created based on inspiration from http://www.dominomag.com/ in the December 2007 issue, my how time flies. I created it for the Christmas season and have left it displayed the entire twelve months. It adds Christmas cheer to everyday life and easily blends with the rest of my decor. I even incorporated it into my Halloween decorations, as the spirals can resemble spider webs.
