Get a leg up on the season with knee socks. I have tried and failed miserably so many times to wear these...but this year....maybe, just maybe......or maybe I should concede and make a concession to wear these only during kickball and halloween.....

Romancing the stone.

Movies for a Monday. I have been in love with Katie Holmes and design collaborations ever since Dawson's Creek met American Eagle and J.Crew....well they have done it again. Based on the book by Galt Neiderhoffer, The Romantics, is the the story of a group of friends with an incestuous dating history that reunite for a wedding and you can only guess what happens. Another chick flick, but less sappy....and what's not to love about Katie, Josh, Anna, Adam, Elijah, and Malin. A must see in my book!....to their glittering future.

J.Crack attack.

Jenna Lyons is a genius....the Sarah Jessica Parker of J.Crew if you will. I am loving this chic ensemble below: Over-sized scarf, blazer, boyfriend jeans, glasses, socks and sandals. Yes, I admit, I want to be Jenna Lyons.And this is her closet...or room of clothes if you will. I love it. One day I hope to have a room of tricks. What's not to love, the horns, the fireplace, the nonchalance. Look at the center--2 chest of drawers....perfect.And my last J.Crew rant...this lovely straw fedora. I got one back in March and have loved it since. Perfect for the beach, a concert, or just because.....

J.Crew....I am in love....just sayin'.............

Crew, why yes please....

Sure it is 80 plus degrees in the sweltering beautiful Sunshine State, but thoughts of fall leaves and tiny snowflakes flood my brain, oh to walk outside in the brisk cold donning wool and tweed. I was fortunate enough to find the J.Crew Fall 2010 collection online.....I am in love and counting the weeks....... Ahhh, the juxtaposition of the dress and military jacket. I'll do this with a silk cocktail dress.Shorts are where it's at...and that works for me. I can't get enough of shorts with tights....but it's way too hot for my matte black leg wear at the moment.
Spring and summer....why must you get in the way....see you on the flip side, I'm off to dream of cooler days. Goodnight, dead heat.

Let's hear it for the boys....

Not a day goes by that I don't see an article of clothing referred to as boyfriend this or boyfriend that, and this weekend I succumbed to the pressure and bought a pair of these Crew pants. I remember when the only boyfriend article of clothing was an unpopular over sized sweater, but now there are over sized jeans, pants, sweaters and shirts--and oxfords. Yes, ladies, we are borrowing from the boys...

Loving these award ribbons. Why not go out on a limb and pin one on like a broach? I can SO see these in the next J.Crew logbook.....maybe the full-on ribbon is a little much so I'll go with the round portion with a vintage gold pin. I am finally coming up for air from a long week-1 more day and I am home free! I love this script coat from The Crew. It reminds me of a yummy piece of ribbon candy at Christmas time...

A little change...

....will do you good. Reminiscing over old photos I realized (not that I did not already know this-but a picture is worth, well you know the rest) that as much things change, some things remain the same. And one of those things is my style shockingly. After uploading the old science fair shots I realized I'm still the girl in a short plaid skirt, dark tights, a pendant necklace and argyle cardigan--see, it's not just J.Crew's fault I dress this way....I've done it for years...

The Moms is looking for some new Rx eyeglasses and I love these--I even want a pair of fake glasses. I know you hate them Mom, but these are my {and J.Crew's} suggestion....

Jenna Lyons, the woman who made J.Crew cool again applied her same sense of style to the Brooklyn brownstone that she and husband/artist, Vincent Mazeau own. The home, a tour year renovation project, was originally featured in the now defunct Domino, but was just featured in a magazine across the pond Living Etc. {I want a script!} Take a gander at these pics.

Adler with the monograms though.Love the silver lamp-I nearly bought on on eBay prior to moving down here....Mom talked me out of it-it is larger than it looks, and that much chrome is not necessarily a good thing.

J, I love you, but.....did you really have to style your outfits with socks? I adore a cute pair of knee socks, but ankle socks? And pink ankle socks at that? I will let this pass since you did make some cute fall tops {more on that}.

Spotted. The J.Crew fall 2009 line-up. Jenna Lyon's, J.Crew's creative director, dishes to the L.A. Times about the inspiration for the collection. Every season Lyons' develops a design story. For fall 2009, she started with the idea of three women--opera singer Maria Callas, actress Lauren Hutton and '60s-era socialite Slim Keith--and created a design story that is a collaboration of various pieces.

Dear J.Crew,

You leave me wanting fall to arrive faster than it possibly can with your new clothes and newer shoes. The boots below leave me longing for the 50 degree weather that is months away, they leave me wanting crisp leaves, they leave me dreaming of Thanksgiving and pumpkin pie and they leave me checking your website daily for corduroy and cashmere. You are over 60 miles from my house, and I miss you and I miss fall.....can we work on that?
